Questions or Need Support?
Below are some answers about support and raised funds. If you need further help or would like to request care, please contact our Care Director at care@pfarlington.com.
We offer a range of support depending on the need and situation. Our goal is to come alongside officers and their families in meaningful, practical ways.
Yes. We’re able to connect officers and their families to trusted mental health professionals and support services familiar with the unique challenges of law enforcement life.
Yes. When appropriate, we organize fundraising efforts to help families facing serious challenges—such as a loss of an officer, medical emergencies, or other distressing situations.
Yes. We can help coordinate and organize meal trains or food support during times of need—such as illness, injury, loss, or welcoming a new child.
We work to foster genuine connection by introducing families to others in similar situations, hosting occasional events, and offering ongoing support networks so no one feels alone in this journey.
Not at all. While we step in during hard times, we also believe in ongoing encouragement and community. We want officers and families to feel supported in everyday life, not just when something goes wrong.
Yes. We require that a Disbursement Form be completed with the recipient’s full contact and disbursement information before any funds can be sent. The required form will be sent directly as a link to either the recipient or the person coordinating care on their behalf, depending on the situation. This helps us ensure that funds are delivered securely, accurately, and directly to the intended person.
If someone is assisting the recipient in filling out the form, they must still provide the recipient’s contact details so we can verify everything before disbursement.
We aim to distribute funds as quickly as possible, but there are a few steps involved.
Donations are processed through GiveButter, which typically takes 48–72 hours to clear individual donations and ACH donations can take up to 7 business days. Once funds are released to our organization, it may take an additional 1–2 business days for them to appear in our account. We also take a short time to process requests and issue payments — either by check or PayPal.
In total, please allow 5–10 business days from the time fund raising is complete to when funds are ready to be sent out. We’ll keep you updated if there are any delays or issues.
If funds are urgently needed, please let us know and we may be able to do a partial disbursement once a portion of the funds are fully processed then do a final disbursement after all fund raising is complete and processed.
The total shown on the fundraising page reflects gross donations — the full amount people have given. However, the platform (GiveButter) deducts standard processing fees and a platform fee for each donation.
This means the final amount we’re able to distribute will be slightly less than the total raised, depending on how many donations were made and how they were processed. We do our best to minimize fees, but they are a normal part of using a secure donation platform.
We currently offer disbursements only either via check (mailed to your address) or PayPal.
No. We will never ask for your bank account or routing number. We only require a mailing address for checks or a PayPal email address, depending on your preference.
If you need to correct or update any part of your submission, just email us at care@pfarlington.com, and we’ll make sure your information is updated before the disbursement is sent.
Funds raised are intended to help support the family’s needs during a difficult time. That may include funeral arrangements, medical costs, meals, or day-to-day living expenses. We do not require documentation of how the funds are used — we simply ask that they be used in good
faith for the purpose they were raised.
That’s okay! Please let us know your connection in the required disbursement form. In some cases, we may follow up to confirm details before issuing a disbursement, just to ensure everything goes to the right place.
